I received an update from Print Ninja. The ship carrying the books is expected to reach port in California around December 22nd. After that, they need to clear customs and be unloaded, sorted, and labeled for final delivery. And, of course, then they have to make their way through the series of steps and vehicles that will get them from the California port to Grinnell, Iowa. And all happening during the holidays.
So there seems no chance the books will arrive before Christmas. I knew all along that this was a long shot. We were so close!
I should receive tracking information and estimated delivery dates once the boxes are unloaded. Given the holidays and the delays that often come with them, it may be after Christmas before we have that information. But they are getting closer every day!
I have put one of the advance copies at the Pioneer Bookstore if you’d like to stop in and give it a peak. And I’ll share the next update as soon as I have any more information.
Until then, to those who celebrate, I wish you a Merry Christmas. And to all a safe and peace-filled end to the year.
