Springing forward
I have be working on giving myself permission to work at a more normal pace. I confess I’m a bit disappointed that I haven’t managed to get the book into more bookstores yet, that I don’t have the ebook version ready, that I haven’t made a read-along version…. so many things that I’ve thought I…

Talkin’ about books
The last couple of weeks have been about changing gears from getting books sent to libraries to sharing the story of writing the book. I’ve done author talks at Davis School, the Mayflower Home retirement community, and the library. I’ll be doing much the same on April 10th at the Community Education Council’s “Bucket Course”…

400 books! Now to get some to Chicago.
As of this afternoon, I have sent 399 books to libraries. If you count the one I have set aside to take to the library in Boulder City, Nevada, the town where I grew up and where my mom still lives, that makes 400 books donated to libraries. The library donations really ramped up over the…

One month
It was just over a month ago that we crammed all of those boxes into our Explorer on a frigid January day. Since that day my focus has been on sharing the books. It has been so much fun to talk with people who’ve read it and hear their thoughts. I have been especially moved…

Sharing is so much fun!
What a joyful journey it has been since my last post! Getting the books into the hands of fellow Renfrow story enthusiasts has been simply wonderful in every way. My first stop was to the Pioneer Bookstore, where Cassie and Sonya met me at the back door on a frigid morning. Stomping through the snow…

We have books! And another adventure!!
I woke up this morning filled with joyful anticipation of book delivery day. The weather last week delayed delivery which had really bummed me out. Since last Tuesday we’ve had 20 or so inches of snow and multiple days of blizzard conditions and dangerous wind chills. All of which pretty much made going anywhere further…

Winter Arrived = Delivery Rescheduled
The Jan 10 scheduled delivery was postponed by the ten inches of snow we received the day before that. But it will not be delayed by the blizzard we’ll have Friday or the subzero temps on Monday! After a very mild December and holiday season, winter arrived in full force in Iowa this week. Tuesday we…

This morning I received a confirmation email from Print Ninja that the pallet of Renfrow books has been labeled for delivery and is in the hands of the UPS freight service. The projected delivery date is Wednesday, January 10th. [Are you excited? I’m SOOO EXCITED!!!] One of the most enthusiastic supporters of this project, my…

Delivery update
I received an update from Print Ninja. The ship carrying the books is expected to reach port in California around December 22nd. After that, they need to clear customs and be unloaded, sorted, and labeled for final delivery. And, of course, then they have to make their way through the series of steps and vehicles that…
